Information You Choose to Send
Terms Entered in Search Tools
A name, place, or other term entered into a search box is sent to the third-party company that operates that tool. Gaston County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.
Emails and Other Messages
If you send an email or contact message, we keep the information needed to read and answer it. We do not share that message outside the organization unless a valid legal duty requires disclosure.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Routine server and analytics records may collect basic technical facts when a page loads, including:
- The network IP address used for the visit
- The browser name and version
- The device category and operating system
- Pages opened and time spent on them
- The referring website, when supplied
- Date and time stamps for requests
Cookie Controls
Cookies help measure how visitors use the site. Most browsers let you reject or remove them. Some site features may work differently when cookies are blocked.
How Collected Data Is Used
Collected information supports ordinary operation and improvement of the service. Uses may include:
- Maintaining reliable and responsive pages
- Sending a search request to the selected partner
- Measuring which resources visitors use

Privacy Beyond This Website
Links may lead to Sheriff release records, NCDAC pages, court portals, federal locators, and outside search tools. Once you follow a link, that destination's privacy terms govern the visit.
Some advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across multiple websites and tailor ads. That tracking is controlled by those companies, not by this site.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be handled by:
- Search partners that process submitted queries
- Analytics providers that measure site use
- Advertising networks that deliver ads
- Law enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order
Reasonable Security, Not a Guarantee
Standard safeguards are used to protect information under our control. No website or internet-connected service can promise complete security, so we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Adults Only
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian may contact us to request deletion if a minor submitted information.
